Age Discrepancy

Dating and I got scared tonight, here's why.... What is an acceptable age discreptancy? I got ask to dinner by a young lady tonight and I was petrified.....Duh what do I do now, how do I act what do I say? So I deferred until a later time and I need input...Oh I mean YOUNG lady....really YOUNG....HELP

My mom's boyfriend is only 5 years older than me and once upon a time she dated a guy that wasn't even born yet when she was legal drinking age.

I think it's more about maturity than age. As long as she isn't jail bait...and isn't so immature that you have nothing in common...I would say go for it

She is about the same age as my daughter......she is more that the legal age.....freaked me out...but she seems genuine.....

My mom is a couple years older than you, and her boyfriend is only a couple years older than me. They are very happy together.

It's whatever you are comfortable with.

cat, if its just dinner, then it is just dinner. however, if you in any way feel uncomfortable, then there is no sense in going.

Now that it has been established that she is indeed legal, I would say take age out of the equation. You're not marrying her; it's dinner. Are you interested in her, do you find her attractive? If you're genuinely interested in spending time with her, the do it; I think it's a good idea to experience the company of all kinds of people--we learn about ourselves that way.

WE are of the understanding that it is just dinner, and she wants to keep it casual. She is very attractive, and acts much older than her age.....she has been flirting with me for weeks....

I would love to have dinner with her, but I am an old fashioned type and I am affraid that I am older than her dad... I would want to meet him first.....but is that a good Idea?????

hmmm. I say do dinner as long as you aren't uncomfortable with anything.

I respect being old fashioned, but.... meeting parents before a dinner date? You're both adults. I'm a little taken aback by that suggestion. It's just dinner!

Jenna you are right we are both adults and it is just dinner... I will still have to give it more thought...I guess part of it is that I am a little gun shy yet....she did ask me to come back tomorrow night(she is a waitress at a very upscale restaurant)....
