Do you think that you should have a funeral or a wake for your marriage/relationship?
I think that I choose a funeral at first because it was a hard sad time. There were a lot of good memories and they tended to drown out the bad memories.
So I made a grave in my mind for the marriage. I buried it deep in the ground and gave it a tomb stone. I don't like to visit this gravesite but once in a while I have to because I walk by there.
Like grieving a real death, grief gets easier to deal with down the road, but there are always memories of what once was.

I was weak at first, but I've slowly but surely gained my strength and health back. A few setbacks and relapses...sure, but I'm solidly back on my feet now.

Now for the EX, I would have her buried with her ass hanging out of the ground so every time I went to visit I would have a place to park my bike.... right up her big 'o ass !
Mine rocked me to the very core. It took a long time to get over.
The biggest problem with a divorce is that there is seldom closure. In other words, the ex is still alive and you may have to deal with her from time to time.
There'll be cake, music, booze and presents for me.
If he had died while we were married, I would have had a great Irish wake and funeral. I would have talked about what a wonderful man he was. I can't do that anymore.
