Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Through the fog its hard to see that it will get better. It is inspiring to see that it can and does.
Whatever! There is no standard that says you have to have certain things accomplished by a certain time. "It's a process, not an event." has always been one of my favorites.
I am about 2 years post-separation and 1 year post-divorce myself. I feel/felt many of the things you describe, but I'm not to the point where "We are really good at co-parenting". I don't know if it will ever get there, but this gives me some hope.
"don't forget to eat, and drink water. It's a process not an event. You'll heal at your own pace. It does get better. It really does just take time. All the silly things you hear over and over, they're true. Whatever you're feeling, people have felt it before, and will after you. You will get through this. "
This is a good reminder for many of us who end up ignoring our health and well-being while dealing with such terrible times.
I have to remember to eat and drink water and not what is happening affect my health.
I just counted on my fingers...lol.....I will be divorced 7 years this May :)
I was in divorce hell for 5 years and 3 months. I thought it would never end....but alas it did :)
I am the happiest I have ever been considering the length and cost to get out.
I am still not dating. I did a little at first.....but decided it wasn't for me.
I left my husband of 24 years (back then) with mostly the shirt on my back and destitute. He turned all 3 of our kids against me (they are still gone) which is one of the worst kind of pain I have experienced, but have risen above it now.
I built a very successful business and it is thriving.....and so am I.
I have some really GOOD ppl in my life.
My divorce taught me that I had all the wrong ppl in my life and that needed to change.
I have learned to love and respect myself. I have learned that another person can not define or make me complete.....that comes from within me.
I am stronger than I realized and I can handle anything that comes my way.....as long as I stay focused.
Thnx Skwerl for coming back and giving hope to those in need.
I am here to back up what you say!
Sounds like you are in a safe, healthy place, it's good to know we can all achieve that, I still struggle and I'm two years out.
