4 months since breakup and still struggling
My ex and I broke up at the end of January. He was my third relationship and he was absolutely perfect. Handsome, charming, successful, community activist, etc. We were long distance and he never wanted to define our relationship. We met up several times and took trips. Each time we met, I would ask him what we were doing and he always said "I'm enjoying getting to know you". Well, the third time I asked him, it took him 1 week to answer and he said he only saw us as friends. This man was so sweet to me, built me up, made me feel like the most important person in the world, and then in the blink of an eye, he turned on me. He became cold, distant, somewhat angry, and doesnt reach out to me. Immediately following the breakup, I was on a mission to try to win him back. I tried the no contact rule (and failed after 3 attempts). I begged for him back (like an idiot). I cried for him and told him I loved him. And now he's moved on as of 1 month ago. I'm struggling because he was the only person that built me up the way he did, and to have that suddenly removed has been emotionally traumatic. And to think that I've been replaced already is even worse. He travels frequently for work and pleasure and I can't help but think I was one of many people he was dating. I cant seem to snap out of this sad place of him moving on so quickly. Makes me think I was nothing, and now has me wondering if I could ever even be worthy of a guy like the one I thought he was. I've started going to therapy, but that's getting expensive and my therapist just keeps telling me to fake it til I make it, and surround myself with friends. I've tried that, and staying busy - I even went skydiving. Is it normal to still feel this sad 4 months after a breakup? I was only with this guy FOR 4 months. I just want to be over him. I've tried talking to other guys but that's kinda making things worse because I'm comparing them to him. I know that everyone says time heals all wounds, but is there anything I can do to speed this up? I dont want to spend the entire summer sad over someone who isn't sad over me. I'm gay and the guy I was dating is gay too, but he isn't out. My therapist says that this guy is running from something and that could be true. He has fancy clothes, a fancy house, and a fancy jetsetting lifestyle, but I think he's sad behind all of that. I'm just upset that he's abandoned me like I'm nothing, and has moved on...yet I'm sitting here sad.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I'm not sure if you guys ever fought or had any differences in you the 4 months that you were together, but maybe remember that YOU DESERVE BETTER!! And you most definitely do and he will realize that when it's too late and you've moved on.
I went through a breakup too, many years ago. It was difficult for me because it wasn’t my choice. I felt inadequate and wondered what was wrong with me, how come I was tossed aside. I did a lot of soul-searching during my first year of being without him in my life. During that time, I read the Bible, prayed, listened to Christain music, read books, and finally realized that what I was searching for was a lasting relationship, one that would never let me down. I found it in my relationship to Christ…after that, my life changed; I changed, and anything that was added to my life became a bonus. I hope you find this to be of help to you, too, and that you find the same peace and happiness that I have.
As someone going through the same thing, I can totally understand how you are feeling .. You at-least have the option of not seeing that person... I work with my ( or rather EX) for 40 hours a week ..! So there are much worse situations to be in ...
The feeling of having to question everything you felt or question anything said to you by that person is worse thing .. it's like you can keep yourself completely busy and there is that flash of "happy times" and everything just derails ..
But I personally hope that we will get through this phase of helplessness or self pity ..it just takes time, until then we are here to help you!
I hope you find your peace sooner !:)
