Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
There is no magic fix for your heart. It has to have time to heal. And the ending of a relationship turns a persons world upside down even if you are the person who broke it off.
You have to take it one day at a time and know that it is a process. Some days are great and others aren't so great. But that doesn't mean you aren't healing. That doesn't mean you aren't growing into a new person.
Start by doing little things you enjoy, like reading a book, it will help take your mind off of it for a while and will let you find some peace. Cook an amazing meal for yourself. Little things to indulge in.
But its one step at a time.
Hugs to you.
Rejection... this too shall pass and you'll be a better person when it's all over.
Hatred... welcome the anger stage and use it to do something productive (I fixed my house, lol). It means that you're almost through this.
Bitterness.... is grief. Also part of the process. (Shock, denial, grief, grief and anger, more anger, acceptance.)
Care... of course you care, if you didn't you wouldn't be human. Look at it as if it's a death. You remember the good things and will keep them close, but it's time to move on because you no longer have a choice.
Moving on... Today, look for the SPECIAL things. What makes you HAPPY. Explore your world, you've just had the door to it open wide (like the Wizard of Oz scene, going to color). There's an ADVENTURE out there waiting for you... you just have to walk through that door to find it. And don't let yourself get stuck... being stuck is like standing in a deep mud puddle... it's messy and sticky, feels terrible and smells after a while and you feel much better once you step out of it and clean yourself up.

I don't know that I had the hate - I am more a depressive person - I direct it inward - again with the above answer. Its still right below the surface.
The under my skin got better when I realized I deserved more than he could give me - maybe it wasnt as deep as the other stuff? The rejection and such? One day it just clicked - I realized what my value was - and he didn't. He didnt get under my skin after that too much.
See answer one - I stay busy with the goals I have for myself, rebuilding my own life - it keeps me focused on me and makes me realize the choices I make in my life are up to me, not someone else. I just let it move thru me. Even now its hard - especially since it wasnt a choice I made - but I cant change it - I have no control over it plus I now know I deserved much more.
I dont know that I will ever not care. It feels different now than it did almost 2 years ago - but he was my best friend. I miss him every day almost - I just let it move thru me and feel how I need to feel - it gets less.
The same way you do - take it one day at a time. What other option is there? Every day, every moment you are moving on. It just doesnt seem like it now, but when there is more time/distance, it will.
