You and your wife may never agree on separation terms between the 2 of you. I would suggest contacting your lawyer and give him your proposal of the separation terms and then let him work out the details with her lawyer. I am not sure what the divorce laws are where you are at, but some states have requirements that each person needs to uphold, so it might not matter what she wants or doesn't want. Some things are better left to attorneys. As for where to stay, that is something only you can decide. I know that it was hard for me to stay in "our house" after she left. It became a prison of broken dreams. I stuck it long enough to sell it and get an apartment of my own. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to stay at the office once in awhile, as long as you can get some rest there. I pray for you and wish you well my friend.

I can't add much more than timbob463, but, for me...the ex and I lived in our house for 6 months after he told me he was leaving me after 25 years. I have no family here, had little money, so nowhere to go. It was HELL. I avoided him like no other. I moved into another bedroom next to my youngest daughter's bedroom on the second floor and hid out when he was around. He spent most of his time at work or at a bar...or, I suppose, with his mistress. After 6 months, he finally bought me out and I got a check...enough to pay cash for a condo. WORST 6 months of my life.

I lasted 3 weeks living with my ex wife after she dropped her bombshell. After yet another weekend of her packing on Friday and coming home Sunday night usually drunk I told her to move to her mothers since she wanted out. Is there a place one of u can move to temporarily? I didn't begin to heal until her cheating ass was moved out and it's been a year now. I'm much better but not 100% yet but it was 24 years together so it's a huge adjustment. Those 3 weeks were just awful, I feel for you. I basically hibernated in the bedroom, and she was happy as a clam knowing she was moving on with her fabulous life, leaving our daughter with me..good luck to you.

Thanks very much for your comments Timbob, startingover and kbbcoop - you all have just validated that this is difficult for anyone. I did contact my lawyer and retained him, asked him to start drawing up an agreement. I will give her until the weekend and if she doesn't bring it up I will tell the lawyer to just draw something up and I'll offer it to her. I can't just wait for her to make up her mind. It is very hard when you once couldn't wait to see someone, to now when you can't stand the sight of them. I just want her to go. Apparently she's looking for an apt and has one in mind but thats all I know. You'd think she'd want the money so she can go - I suspect there's something going on. Maybe she's connecting with a lawyer.

Going through something similar, Luckily its just a rental lease that I can afford on my own. So hes moving out April 1st. But since we broke up March 2nd and already had rent paid for the month, I suggested going week to week, one week one of us finds a place to stay and the other stay there. That worked for one week. He kept having to come back for things. So I just packed a suitcase and left. stayed at friends . I personally don't know how anyone can heal while living under the same roof. But my hat goes off to them for being so emotionally strong. Best of luck to you!

My stbx would stay or need to work somewhere til late and leave at 4-5in the morning and sleep on bed rail. It was his way to tell himself or give our children the appearance of him trying. But when the OW left he also moved to sleeping in camper.he had done that about 6 wks after dropping the I'm not in love with you and then came back in. I wanted to save my marriage and family. I felt it was midlife crisis but created myself alot of emotional damage in the process. Can say I tried and know that I did do what I could. Maybe should hsve are moved sooner, just didn't want our daughters senior year to be bad. But as he said all along and still claims you have no choice in who you love, "it is what it is". My thoughts are it is what you make or want it to be, but it does take two.
He seems to be doing things on the buddy system and definitely knows three words to say and use of what people and judges will want to here from a person that is just "trying to be the man he knows he can be" puts on great showing if he is hurting. The only thing hurting I believe is his pride. Our youngest is not responding to his text or calling him, wanting to even go see him. I've never said anything bad or negative about his dad, but he left without even talking to him. My stbx thinks I need to make him do these things and I think hes old enough to choose. I do think he needs his father, but he chose his friend(s) over his family and maybe these are his consequences. I don't want to pressure kids to choose. ...got off track. I tried to stay busy but was in save marriage mode. Stay strong and find support in trusted people.

Thx for your comments - you're right kaytcom its very hard to heal when seeing eachother daily. She's away this weekend so getting a break. When she's back I will try and come to an agreement with her. At least the past couple of days we are being polite and civil to each other. I think now she realizes too that its over and we don't need to hate eachother or be nasty. I hope it stays that way but understand emotions can run high too.
