today my stbx commemorated our 17th wedding anniversary with three of our four kids by going to breakfast.
I finally moved into my own place after separating at the end of March and living with my brother since then. The reason I didn't move in sooner was because she needed my money to get through the end of her school year. She gets her summer checks in a week.
She wants the divorce. I was willing to work it out although she said she couldn't promise me she wouldn't cheat on me again. I wish she still was in love with me. I fell in love with her more than ever after I quit drinking. Little did I know at that time that she decided to "get even" by having a three month affair with someone she didn't even like.
Some days I feel like I got this. Others I'm falling apart. Tonight, I'm in between. I know I'm a good dad and my kids can depend on me. When it comes to just me, I'm worried that I'm damaged goods. I've been flat out rejected by my stbx. I tell her "I love her" and it's meant in a (mostly) platonic way. She just says, "I know" as if she was as cool as Harrison Ford in Star Wars. Today when I had a couple of minutes with just her before she left she simply said, "I'm sorry." I told her I was sorry for not appreciating her until it was too late. My female friends have told me that I won't have any problem finding another woman, not to worry about it now that I need time to be me. Kind of hard when my kids need me. Or maybe I think they do. I know I'm not alone, but not having someone that is in love with me hurts and feels empty.

I'd suggest a little self-improvement and then get back out there. Try and avoid the mistakes you made in the past with the next girlfriend.
Your stbx is acting that way because she is angry and bitter. I've been in your situation before. The nicer you are the meaner she'll be. Am I right?
Being sweet to her won't get you anywhere good. She won't be attracted to a broken man either. Cut her loose and start living a better life. Latter on she or someone better will want in on your life. You choose who and when.
