Brain Injury Support Group
Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.
Not sure if its the same kind of thing or not but...I understand the feeling kinda weird about it. It just started happening...but maybe this will help pull out some more if I'm way off base in understanding.
Sporty - Yes, that's exactly it. It feels like I'm stretching muscle in my head. Very bizarre and hard to explain.
Perhaps...it's just a part of the healing!!
It's not particularly painful (especially considering the level of pain I've dealt with for so long.) It's just an odd thing.
It sunds exactly like the kind of action that NCR did for me, in a lasting way (5 years so far). Some injuries kind of structurally affect people in the head and deep in the head and upper C-spine. I was locked in severe pain. I mean my issues are up in the center of the head which is why NCR was the only thing that really helped me. Nothing in the 12 years made the slightest dent in my constant pain,. My doctors were like klondike cops, no idea what to do with me.
I needed 180mg of morphine a day to cope with the pain, then after 12 years of living that way 24/7 - my NCR procedure gave me relief that sounds much like that. I never took another opioid pill since that day, but for 9 of 12 years - i took a dose every 8 hours.
For me the change that happened on the 3rd day of NCR was just phonemonal. 12 years and 7 months of pain ended in a 3 day series. I celebrate it like a birthday.
Also considering neurofeedback.
My pain level (despite the return of diziness) as actually low right now.
My profile mood is in the green?!
I don't think you do, because I know about how your accident was. But that just felt good to talk about.
So maybe that stretching is because you need to find some balance within your head now? Sounds like something that makes sense to me.
I also had NCR done. It ended my daily pain and headaches. I studied it, and it just made sense to me, knowing all the trauma my head went thru. It worked for me.
Elanie I'm glad your pain is decreased. That makes sense to me that stretching your jaw would feel like you are stretching your head out. :) I'm glad that is helping you.
