Brain Injury Support Group
Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.

Good Morning. Just wanted to check in with the group to see how everyone is doing.
I'm noticing that there is a stark lack of resources for TBI when compared to other neurological and psychological "issues". Has anyone else encountered this?

Good day, yes. There seems to a lack of resources. My loved one has anoxic brain injury and a top hospital in the nation has no treatment? She lies unconscious for over a month, and no "long term" acute care facility will take us.

I'm a TBI victim and support and medical help for TBI is a cruel joke. The only help I got I did myself. The brain injury association of the US is pathetic. The don't even have online support forums or chat.

Yes, There is a major lack of research being done, I don't have TBI, have Cerebral Palsy, and there is more info about it in children vs adult's. research tend to focus MS rather then cp, While there is no cure for either, seems like the FDA would rather fund MS research then cp TBI or any other neurological problem.

Especially if your injury is caused by a government official. I have been repeatedly beat on by the local police department because they have found out that I am too poor to afford my rights. The last meeting was on October 22nd of 2021. My best friend died on October 21st of 2021. I called the local 911 for medical and mental health care. They refused me care, so I continued to call until my phone died. After that, I decided to walk down the road and yell for Help from My neighbors. One neighbor called and then told me that they would not send anyone. I'm down the road, another neighbor called and they stood on their porch as four cops showed up to beat me up and arrest me for refusing to discuss my medical and mental health Care needs with the county sheriff as per my HIPAA rights.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

So voc rehab finally got in touch with me...it took like six months finally. The voc rehab person that they assigned to me is a lawyer and extremely knowledgable on disability law and he seems to know a great deal about how to get people placed in jobs and how to make their resumes pass ATS. I was really surprised at how articulate and energetic he is. I guess my question is how much I...
