I don't usually start a post about just one medicine, but I'm curious if anyone else has been on this med.

I started it last week. It's actually a seizure med, but I'm being put on it to reduce the head pain. It actually reduced the pressure in my head after just 2 days, which is lovely. But the side effects are pretty strong.

Anyone else been on this one?

I'm not a huge fan of meds...would much rather go natural but am tired of being in pain.

Ive taken it. I struggled with finding words which can be bothersome. It eliminated my appitite (which was nice) but I did stop taking it because the word searching was a problem for me. I know others who take it and dont have any problems. It works really well for them.

tried it for a few days. Like most seizure meds I reacted badly to it and couldnt take it either. Hope it helps your pain.

I have taken this med also. Just make sure you drink plenty of water to flush your kidney's out. It causes kidney stones too. That was something that I noticed while I was on it. I haven't taken any in years though now.

I have been on this for three years now and it has reduced my migraines significantly! Give it a chance to get to a proper level in your system. I take 75 mg twice a day.

I have very little side effects.

I was on it for my headache, but did not work for me. Did help me sleep though. I am not on it anymore. I never had any side effects from it. I have heard good things as far as it helping head pain.

Well...it ended up badly. I had to go into the Dr. today - they did a consult with ER & a Neurologist because I ended up with blurred vision, the room spinning etc.

They're taking me off it. Sigh...

I tried topamax , it is a fairly new drug here in Australia .
nothing gets my head pain to go away . topamax didn't either !

I stopped taking it after about 2 weeks as at the time i noticed it took away all the work id done to regain my short term memory .
After working 5 years to regain any memory this was not an option .

like yourself i am very wary of meds .

ElaineLanie, I am so sorry the med didn't work out for you, especially since it was helping with pain mgmt. I hope they are able to find something else very soon that kills the pain without causing side effects. Thinking of you...
