Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.
You guys need to know about this! After almost three years of suffering with an underlining health issue I finally have some answers. I keep telling my primary dr. that something else is wrong. My nurse practitionar suspected that I might have several things that could be wrong; she tested for eminia, keatones, and thyroid issues. Well after my dr. said she thought i might have thyroid issues I went home and did a google search; and I had most every symptom right down the list.
And the test results came back that I have low TSH = thyroid problems!
And get this TBI people are at higher risk for adrenal and thyroid problems. IF you are not feeling well and have the symptoms then ask for a comprehensive thyroid test. It is also an hormone issue and it can hide itself and change through out the month; so sometimes you have to be tested several times and at different times of the month.
I just got back from the dr and we have answers. My ketones and blood count is fine; but my thyroid does have something wrong. I have another dr. appoint with a specialist in a couple of weeks. Nothing medically has been done yet so i still feel weak and tired and all the other symptoms.
The test showed that my TSH levels are low concerning the thyroid. I do not know much about what TSH levels mean but I will be googling for answers.
I hope while they may have found the answer that I will have a treatment soon. I want to feel better. I hope I can treat this problem naturally with diet and nutritional supplements; but we will just have to wait and see.

I have struggled for years with problems of gaining weight and then taking lots of herbs etc to try desperately to somehow get the weight off! I will have to write this down to see if i can get it checked out.
I am trying to find info on possible side effects of having MRI's. I think they may have exacerbated an already ailing thyroid.
Anybody know about any information on this subject?
As a TBI survior I have had way too many MRI's.
