Sometimes I feel as if I have to multi task. Other times hubby says you have no comprehension of time, and he is quite right. I used to be the organised type.

I think I understand what you're saying...its like you have multiple thoughts all at once and none of them connect together to act like a thought process. Kind of like trying to multitask. When I first started adding processes...they all got jumbled in a pile making me think...what the?????

It does get better...with a little more time ;-) Hang in there...it's great news too...you're healing!

Sporty - you described it very well.

You know when you see kids on a bumper car ride just crashing all over the place into each other? Well, that's how my brain feels right now. Lol.

So this morning, I thought, well, maybe I can write down all my thoughts and get 'em into order.

Bitemarks - It's like my brain has awakened and now I realize all these things I should do - straighten a room, go to the post office, etc. But these thoughts are all coming at the same time.

Once I wrote a To-Do list, I feel more centered and not so scrambled.

This is definitely not a bad thing what is happening. I feel my brain coming back - it just doesn't seem to know what to do with itself!

I think this is great ElanieLanie. You are healing! :) Wonderful news!! I think that's good you are doing a todo list. It will help sort out this rush of ideas you are getting. You know it's always good to write it down. Then you can go back, and look at it, and kind of decifer what you need to do with all those thoughts. Good luck and Great News!!

I cant cope well without my to do list. And cross off each when done. Sit there quietly and get things in the best order, sometimes better to do one before other. Hubbys just wishes I would write a shopping list!! Seem to forget about doing that unless he starts with something then maybe I will add.

Well my brain is still slow in many ways but I guess this happens to me too at times but I just calll it confusion. Wriying things down does help but I think the thing to remember is that you are improving and this is geat. The brain is amazing and it constantly tries to learn new easier ways quicker ways to do things. I guess it can all be a mess when it gets ahead of itself but I'm sure you will get more on top of it. i still get mixed up often but I am finding some things to easier to deal with and ways to help me cope. At the end of the day its a good sign.

I agree that's a step forward, now that you've got that speed you gotta tame those thoughts. I am pushing and pushing myself to make up for like 6 years of computer programming i just missed on the sidelines, so i'm always pushing my brain. It seems like it like your body in the gym, you push past the point where it hurts - just a bit - then back off and let the gains consolidate.

Sometimes, when the thoughts get all twirled up, it's like chaos, if i remember i say to myself "Stop........ Reset ....... Start Again;;" Hope that all relates :)

That is sooo cool that you have noticed a definate change, and its wonderful. Use a to-do list then. Write down EVERYTHING if you have to. Seems like your speed is returning, but the organizing part of your brain is still following behind. I have ADD and this describes my mind very much of the time. The bumper cars thing....wow....EXACTLY. So I try to go slow and I make lists.

I've decided to re-organize my closets and -whoa- I can't figure out where to begin! But I am really thankful that at least I have the vroom going on in my brain where I can realize I need to do stuff.

Always start at the beginning of a job. And try to do the easy bits first. Like your wardrobe, dont through all on your bed at once. Maybe first go through and decide what you dont want anymore, get rid or vamp up if you like it but needs something to freshen it up, then you will find your on the way in an adventure. Enjoy the improvement, it is good news for you. And may just keep on improving. You give us hope.

My TBI was 20 years ago and I still suffer greatly I get confused very easily and my brain seems to overload frequently and go into shut down. I realise that it is important to takes things slowly even now, its great that you are seeing an improvement just dont rush its a life changer thats for sure and takes a long time to work out your own solutions to stuff.
