Brain Injury Support Group
Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.
If you are not in the states do you know all the rules/regulations for the country you are in? You'll need LOTS of research.
After my first denial, he realized it would be hard - Even for for him!!!!! So we hired Binder & Binder. They specialize in SSDI. I also found out that SSDI has set limits on what a lawyer can charge! Yeah!!!
I've been denied twice and my next step is to go before the judge. I had the option of doing it via video conference or in person. I preferred in person and B&B (the lawyer) strongly suggested the same thing, so that is what we are waiting for- an "appointment". Then if the judge denies me again- there is another step, but I'm not sure what it is- but this is where the charge of the lawyer changes- and it will be more $$$
I am really hoping we get a decision this year. Financially we are hurting- because my hubby had retired a month before I ended up in ICU. I did try to go back to work- but it was way too difficult. Not to mention that I started getting lost while driving alone.
Please let me know if you are in the states and what you decide to do.
I wish you all the luck.
I get tired easily, and yes the fatigue causes clumsiness. Just today I was trying to dig out my car (east coast blizzard) I started to get so fatigued, the snowblower guy repeated himself a couple times about trying to back up my car, but I was so exhausted I was not processing the info fast enough, he got impatient I almost hit my head, I didn't but I almost just walked away from the car and now I feel like crying. There just is so little understanding of BI. My thoughts and prayers are with you. The only thing is that if the wildlife park is alot of "repetative tasks" or similar tasks, that in time the fatigue will ease. The repetition of the same brain games at first, for me, caused such fatigue in a short time, but as I kept doing them each day I could do them for a longer time with less fatigue, like practising over and over and memory of the task becomes imprinted in the brain. Also having chickens for eggs is a really good idea....executive functions at work madoak!! Blessings
Live in the U.K. and no lawyers will touch NHS/benefits problems. Could have had a tribunal but this is very tough and went through one last year for my autistic son (about his schooling). Lost a stone in weight, back to back panic attacks and 2000 for specialist reports. I did win but just couldn't go through that again. Love being around the animals though who are amazing and give me hope in this tough life. Thank you for your responses.
