yes. See a Neurologist right away. And your promary Doc. They need to know so they can see what can be done. If you are not alredy on anti-seizure meds, you need to be. Talk to your health care professionals and let them help you.

I am already seeing a Neurologist. He has put me on "Kepra, 500mg 2x daily", AND "PhenoytoinEX(Dilantin) 400mg 1x daily". I am in search of a primary doc in my area who is not an *&%hole. Last one I saw tried to say I was faking the whoe injury, yet I have 3 or 4 specialists who now have me on "Permant disability" . You made this sound as if it could be a sighn of something severe. Is this the case?

if it is nto treated and gotten under control it COULD get worse. IN brain injuries, there are NO guarantees...for good or ill. Your Neuro needs to know that your anti-seizure meds are not working right. He may need to adjust the dosage level, or change them all together. Be careful, he will need to wean you off the Dilantin. Suddenly takin gyourself off that can cause problems. It needs to be eased out, if that is what is called for. As for if your condition WILL or WILL NOT get worse, that is for the Doctors to say. Gettin a primary GP is also of paramount importance. Try having the Neurologist refer you to one. That way you get one who will be sure to understand your needs and already be in communication with your specialists.

I agree with Jack.. talk to your dr. I have a seizure disorder as a result of a TBI. Seizure meds can actually make your short-term memory worse. Talk to your dr about rehab. My short term memory is getting better. I have learned to exercise it (for lack of a better term). I've actually noticed a difference.

Alot of parts of recovery for me seem to be 2 steps forward 1 step back , sometimes 2 ofrward 4 back .
My memory is about the only tpart that has remained on the up hill and its getting better over time.
Its a shame you get them seizure's , the fact your memory has taken a down hill turn may or may not be related .but i would get it checked asap.
Like jack said get ya meds looked at too , and a 2nd opinion is always good.
good luck with finding a supportive doctor ,Trust me i know where ya coming from on that issue.
A Neurologist and or good brin injury speacilist is what id be looking for if I were you .

Many problems, like depression, seizures, etc. cause memory problems. So, when you have these problems, be prepared for that, even when you may already have trouble because of your brain injury! I have 42 seizures a day and I have conquered my memory problems with reptition in my mind and hard work! It does work if you practice enough.
