Brain Injury Support Group

Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.

What kinds of things have you discovered or do that have made your life easier ?

I discovered precooked turkeys!
A friend gave us a precooked smoked ready to slice and serve turkey for Christmas. A precooked or smoked turkey is going to be the new holiday tradition at our house.

Here are things they use or have used for Thomas.
Daily sequence board listing daily activies that he needs to do.
Built up utensils.
Reacher.
Sock aid (helps put your socks on)
Long shoe horn.

I used to love to read. Now it is very difficult. I have been able to enjoy reading again by "reading" books on tape I get from the library.

I have a easeable board in the kitchen. when I run out of somthing or need something I will automatic write it on the board. then when I go groc shopping I will write a list out

Velcro shoe straps!! With kids it is much easier when they are too young to tie.
