i feel the same exact way. todays one of the days where i avoid facebook and go straight to here. i think we all love this site because when we tell our problems her then people get that this is the only place we really can and not be judged. im her to listen and hey im having one of those days too.

Today's one of those days where everyone who doesn't have a tbi is just frustrating me cause they aren't understanding what i'm going thru and they have never taken the time to understand me and now their like "well explain it to me" and I just don't have the freaking energy to right now.

So I tossed the tbi book on the kitchen table and said "read this" and walked away and into my room. I just can't deal with it right now. They should have been listening to me or reading it from day one, not asking me 7-8 months into it..ugh..so frustrating.

Ya I watched it the other day it was really good, and I even suggested my family watch it to but they never try to educate themselves on the issue so there's not much I can do. Can't hold their hand on the subject, just provide them with the info and hope they utilize it at some point.

I totally get you but my problem is more so that most people think there is anything wrong so just think I'm stupid lazy or whatever. Some people just won't ask anything and then I have the others who think they know it all, equally annoying as they won't let me explain. I wish people would let me explain more. I was talking with someone else on here as they brought up the point that its ok to explain its just that people seem to think you are looking for pity which I don't think any of us are we're just looking for some level of understanding

Hi all i'm 20 years into my tbi and I still have these problems there is just not enough awareness out there about tbi's as there is with other problems. You do get tired annoyed frustated but sorry people I don't think it will ever go away until people are really educated about what we go through. Some of us are forgetful, do get tired easily, do get confused, do have mood swings, do get frustrated easy, your brain is you and that has been damaged in what way in many ways not even yourself understands sometimes then trying to explain that to others is the most frustrating thing us tbier's have to do. At least we have this site where people here have some understanding.

I use to try to explain my injury, but after doing it each time I would feel a bit depressed for having to explain. After about a year I simply decided I wasnt going to explain it anymore, unless my awkwardness or obviously slip up occurred. For me Im a much happier person for not feeling like I have to tell everyone.
