Brain / CNS Tumors Support Group
A brain tumor is any intracranial tumor created by abnormal and uncontrolled cell division, normally either found in the brain itself, in the cranial nerves, in the brain envelopes, skull, pituitary and pineal gland, or spread from cancers primarily located in other organs (metastatic tumors). Brain tumors may be benign or malignant.
I was diagnosed in Sept 2011 with a 7mm prolactin producing adenoma on the pituitary gland. this was sort of found my accident... i just went to the doctor because for the past year my life had been going down the drain. I stopped talking the birth control pill in sept 2010 to lose weight and get pregnant, however when i stopped my body really went crazy. I kept gaining weight, my mood swings became unmanageable, life become unmanageable, my cycle stopped, the anxiety took over my body, i could not function normally and so i would try and hide, it was making crazy and the migraines made me a different person! So i went to the dr for help to get medicine for hypothryoidism which it so apparently seemed I had, and i did, but the doctor didn't stop there, he said you should have an MRI. and now 2 months later I still have all these SAME symptoms and I'm just barely hanging in there. I have yet to see any specialist, just seeing my regular family physician. Trying to get medical and then to see a neurologists, but from these post it sounds like i'll be needing a endrocologists too.
I had a hysterectomy this past august; the recovery was way worse than from the brain tumor surgery!
Yes it's scary, but if surgery is recommended, go do it... Especially if you've been feeling like crap for *years* because of the stupid thing!
Hugs to all facing this decision.
