A brain tumor is any intracranial tumor created by abnormal and uncontrolled cell division, normally either found in the brain itself, in the cranial nerves, in the brain envelopes, skull, pituitary and pineal gland, or spread from cancers primarily located in other organs (metastatic tumors). Brain tumors may be benign or malignant.

I need HELP PLEASE!!

My Aunt has what she says is a Brain Stem fatty tumor located between the spinal colum and the brain stem. Can anyone give me information on this type of tumor. I would like to know what the symtoms are? How bad is it? Will surgery help? Is there any other treatment for this type of tumor? What are the risks if surgery is only treatment? Are there any risks due to age and what would the age limit be? What condition should the person be in if surgery is warranted? What are the risks or dangers of surgery? Has anyone had this type of tumor and what kind of treatment did you have? What is the recovery time long and short term? What are the possible functional losses with surgery?
Please any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Tamara

I really don't have answers, I am looking for some of the same type of answers. You might find som einfo if you google a search for info. There are a few people on this group, but most are looking for answers also. Best to you! Yahoo also has groups, you might check there for a group. Trust you will find answers.

Hi Tamara, I call myself bob dum I have 2 Brain Tumors Had Lung cancer 3 years ago seems it moved had my Left Lung Removed I can tell you what my Doc's tell me. I'll try and answer some questions for you I am not fimular with fatty tumors but my type I am doing research on. Any Brain Tumor is NOT GOOD Mine is also on the Brain Stem so they can't operate yet I am trying to shrink it with Radation Therpy Next step may be chemo. My surgen told me to remove at this point would either Kill me on the table or parlize me DOSEN'T mean it would be the same for your aunt. I went thru Chemo Therpy for 6 months with my Lung take a toll on you Nasua, Tired, Fatiuged. the better shape you are in before chemo the better you can take it. Radiation for me now seems to be a peice of cake but I know what chemo did so seem to know kow to cope. Also surgecy better in better out. I'm 52 years old if that helps I expect my recovery to be long & hard but I NEVER GIVE UP. Surgecy may leave me particaly parlized mostly Left side I can Live with that. another Note I met a friend had brain cancer she went blind no other side effects I MET HER 20 YEARS AGO and talked to her just the other day. Hope I was a help you can write me on this list if you like Hope your Aunt is OK Tell her to keep Fighting. bob dum

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
