A brain tumor is any intracranial tumor created by abnormal and uncontrolled cell division, normally either found in the brain itself, in the cranial nerves, in the brain envelopes, skull, pituitary and pineal gland, or spread from cancers primarily located in other organs (metastatic tumors). Brain tumors may be benign or malignant.
I just am offering encouragement to those who are just finding out they have a colloid cyst in the third ventricle. I had endoscopic surgery at Crawford Long /Emory University Hospital. Best decision I made in my life so far. Yes I was scared. I was nervous. I didnt get very much talking with someone who had been through it. I know the ins and the outs now. If you want to post a comment I will get back to you it comes through my email. That is all for now. Colloid Cysts should be taken very seriously.

I have a similar issue with an ependymal cyst in my third ventricle. It's my second time around with one, so I already have a lot of damage from a previous surgery. I wish you luck with yours.

so i just found that i have a small colloid cyst of the third ventricle. I got a cat scan because i'd been having headaches and pressure behind my eyes, along with nausea that i thought was due to a concussion. They are doing an mri next, but i'm not confident that my doctor is taking this seriously as he said my headaches could just be migraines. At what point do you think i should seek the care of a specialist?

I was just diagnosed with a colloid cyst in the third ventricle. I am so terrified and just want answers but all neurosurgeons seem to think I am non-emergent which is great and all, but these symptoms don't feel non-emergent especially when I can't focus at work do to nausea and my ears ringing or my headache. How can I emphasize to them that this is something that I need answers for and not in two months time which is when my appointment is set up for.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
