Bone cancer occurs when bone cells grow uncontrollably. Unlike normal cells, cancer cells do not stop reproducing after they have doubled 50-60 times. These abnormal cells form clumps of tissue, called tumors, inside bones. The first symptom of bone cancer is typically pain in the affected bone(s).
Ten years ago I had a tumor the size of a tangerine removed from inside my right femur just above m knee. The surgeon was able to remove the tumor and a margin of tissue so they didnt have me do any further treatment. I was in a fitted leg brace for eight weeks and the day after it was removed I turned over in bed and snapped my leg where the top of the brace had been resting. The day i came out of tge cast for that break they rexrayed it and I. Came home. Wasn't in the door twenty minutes when they called and said i needed to go back up there because i had now broken it where they gad done the surgery. That was al those years ago. Funny thing is that i never remember being given a duagnosis. Whatbi remember is the doctor telling me the tumor was borderline. Thats it.
I now have fibro and chronic fatigue and aches and pains are the norm. My leg has been hurting for about five months I figured just another sore place. But then the bone was aching and burning and I would get these sharp painsscared and need info. like someone sinking a knife into my bone where I had the surgery done. I started losing weight without trying. No appetite. Exhausted all the time. Ive lost 51 pounds in two and a half months. I can lose three pounds in one day. So my doc sends me for bloodwork. Xrays. CAT scans bone scans. Everything was ok until they did the bone scan. Bone scan showed a hot spot right where they did the surgery. So off to ortho doc I go. He sends me for an MRI. contacts my ortho oncologist and then mails him my mri disc. So now i wait. The thing that I keep thinking about is that I was never told what kind of tumor it was that was removed, yet when I was in the orthooedic doc office i hear him tell his assistant "oh yeah, i remember her, we sent her to Rush she had a chondrosarcoma. We're going to have to get her back up there this xray is completely abnormal."
What can any of you tell me about this sort of tumor or chondrosarcoma at all. I would really appreciate any information or experiences you have had. Thanks so much!

Chondrosarcoma is a cancer composed of cells derived from transformed cells that produce cartilage.[1] Chondrosarcoma is a member of a category of tumors of bone and soft tissue known as sarcomas. About 30% of skeletal system cancers are chondrosarcomas

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
