Body Self-Esteem Community Group
This group is for people that dont like their body or certain things about their body. Hopefully we can help each other not feel so bad. I want this to be a safe place to discuss whatever you do not like about your body and that may include things of a more adult nature so 18 and over is encouraged.

Thought I would see if any one had any thoughts on what we do to make this issue I little better.
My main problem has always been weight. I was a fat kid and that never changed. Looking back I really was not that overweight for my size but at the time all I could see was a fat ugly kid no one would want.
I was able to lose all my extra weight at one time but inside I still felt like the same old fat guy.
One thing that has kind of helped me is to take pictures of myself. At one time that was a big no no! I would never let anyone take picutres of me, at least very seldom. When I would look at pictures of myself I would just cringe and feel instant hatered towards myself.
So how did I end up taking pictures of myself. Well, when I got my first computer around 07 one of the first things I looked for was online support. Followed closely by porn... no just kidding :) Anyway it just so happens that the site I was on most way back then was DailyStrength. I was able to make so good connections and good support. There was one woman in particular that I had a strong connection with. We helped each other a lot. Eventually she wanted to know what I looked like. I dreaded that so much, but she had been a good friend and I wanted to do this for her. I took picture after picture of myself. Most of them I would delete right off. It was really hard doing that! I had to look at myself over and over! Eventually some of them almost looked passable. I saved the ones I thought were not overly horrible and finally pick one. Of course she thought I looked fine but old me figured she was just being nice.
Since that time I have progress some. I am able to look at pictures of myself without getting too sick! Big time progress huh :)
I have even taken body pictures in varying states of dress but those are still pretty hard to deal with! In my own mind though I am not quite as hard on myself as I use to be and I suppose thats what counts

I have toys. So the ones I have not used or need any more, are gone in the trash. One of my toys is just a regular hand held massager with an attachment. The other is a real insertable toy. This morning I ordered a new toy with attachments. It is small and has a brush like attachment and the other looks like a rose with a tiny tongue. I'll get it in about 2 weeks. Rechargable and...

I can't believe this has gone on this long. So I don't have much hope of getting a tech job, but I saw an educational job that I thought might be really good. It would have been working at a university supporting high school students who are taking college classes. I did a mock interview with a friend and prepared extensively. It was at the university that I graduated from. I was very excited...

Something as little as a shower and shaving. Feeling clean. Hydration, the better hydrated we are our body can do its job properly and we see that in our face.
This boots our confidence then we eat better, workout.
How I have been working on it. Just hard, the more medication the more dehydrated I get lol
Did I ride my bike further today than I did yesterday? Was it easier to pickup and carry the 40lb bag of dog food to the shed? Has my pace increase when I walk the dogs? Was I able to work in the yard without hurting? All these things my body can accomplish show me I that I am getting fitter, healthier and most likely losing weight. I can't beat that.
For five years I lived near a nudist beach at Portslade on the south coast of England. We all stood around chatting, accepting each other just as we were. We never commented on anyone's body shape, except maybe a glance and a compliment such as 'that's nice'.
I have also worked as a nude model. Most of the models were women of all shapes, sizes and ages. At least half the classes were women of all ages, just as unselfconscious as the models.
It seems to me that being embarrassed about our bodies is making a rod for our own back. At some time, most of us need medical attention which involves being naked so it is best for us to get used to it.
