As for your ride, is there any way you could work closer to home?? Could you trade help so you didn't feel awkward relying on him/her?? Depending on where you live, you may qualify for travel assistance of some sort if you provide a letter from your doctor. I would also think you might be eligible for some benefits if your condition is permanent and progressive. That was my experience here in Canada.
I know you must be worried, especially being alone. Would it be possible to board at a shared accomodation?I hope you find some calming answers and I'm glad you found your way here! :)
I had to give up nursing because of my sight issues, which is ok because I wouldn't want to hurt anyone because I couldn't see what I was doing. So I decided to go back to school for accounting, I received my AAS degree now I am working on my BS degree. The school has been wonderful in getting my books on disk or pdf files when necessary.
Are you eligible for services from the commission of the blind? They have wonderful services and they come to you.
