Bisexuality is a sexual orientation which refers to the aesthetic, romantic, and/or sexual attraction of individuals to other individuals of both their own and the opposite gender or sex. Most bisexuals are not equally attracted to men and women, and may even shift between states of finding either sex exclusively attractive over the course of time.
Alright. I've officially known I was bisexual since I was 17. I'm now 20. I feel there were possibily signs along the way in my teens but I never really saw them since I thought no one was really interested in me and I was all in my head (I tend to overthink).
Anyway, When I was 18, my mom invaded my privacy and read some of my journal entries. I was in university at age 17, and had had several same sex crushes. I later ended up confessing to a couple girls, but being shot down by all of them. Mom told me that she was mad and that if i ever came out, my dad would take his own life.
There were a few graphic, emotional entries in there. And apparently mom read them. I still haven't forgiven her for that.
However, in the summer when I was 19(2008), she confronted me. It was only her and I in the house. And she asked me about it. I told her I didn't want to lie, but that I was bisexual. She did the whole parent thing. "HOw do you know?" "You sure this isn't a phase?" "Are you gay?" "You're gay." Ugh, I was so livid.
I told her what I was and to drop the issue.
We agreed not to really talk about it (because I would become upset whenever she did bring it up). So we went through a couple months not really talking about it. And recently she's asked me if I'm seeing any young guys. I'm not but I've been with a couple since the summer.
Anyway to wrap this up, I'm crushing on a female friend I know. I haven't told anyone though. And she's told me that she loves me no matter what.
Does this mean that she's accepting me? Or is she just a mother and thinks I'm straight now or something?? :(

Some moms love to invade privacy because they see it as a form of caring, "I want to be sure my daughter is OK." It doesn't make it right but they don't see it as being the intrusive act you do. Ever since the invention of the scraped knee, moms have been great fixers of their children's problems. Since your mom might be kind of new to all this, she could be wondering just what if anything she needs to do about all this. She could have worries for herself too, like what if might mean for family reunions and grandkids.
It sounds though like your mom is having the hard time with your own discomfort and difficulty in talking freely. But in the end, it's your life and you're the one who gets to decide the whens the hows and the wheres.
