I got on this site because I have no one that I can tell that I think I am bisexual. Everyone who knows me would be SHOCKED. My family would probably disown me. They practically do anyway because of my mental illness.
I have a niece who is a lesbian and she'd understand but sure she would tell other family so don't trust her. How long can I keep silent? Should I wait until I find a man I'm attracted to? so many questions unanswered........

The only person that knows when it's right for you to come out is you. You shouldn't do it if you depend on your parents support and you feel they may withdraw their support.

What about close friends that you can trust? They may be shocked but it is kind of shocking news. At least there are people and elsewhere online that can understand you and accept you. I hope everything turns out good for you.

belle you are nearing 50 years old. I suggest you just live your life and forget about people who are judgemental or inmature.

I made the same mistake and came out at 40. Nothing I can do about waiting too long, but I am happier than ever been in my life.

Talk to your niece and start living your life. She may very well give some insights that will make you more confortable.

Belle, I am 17 years old. I have known I was gay since I was 10. I figured that out when I had the biggest deepest crush on my older sisters friend. Who turned out to also be gay. Craziest thing is we ended up seeing each other earlier this year, it didn't work out very well but in the end it was a trial and error. I knew for so long, and I guess that young was way to early to come out so I waited and waited until I finally couldn't take it any longer. I finally came out in March of this year. Yes being quite a bit younger than you but, there comes a time when you just can't take it anymore you long to feel love and affection and intimacy and ENJOY it. You will never feel that unless you come out, I know I am a lesbian and don't like men in that way but I mean we work along very similar lines here. I know I am only 17 and don't know how much I can do for you but when you are ready I will be here to guide and help you every step of the way. Good luck in all you do. Love, Bre

I'm 34 and just over the past year told my husband, some family and close friends I'm bisexual. It's never to late! Find those who will support you. Test their views on LGBT and talk to those who support us!
There's lost of great people on here to chat to if you need support your not alone we are all in the same boat!

I tell those I want to(my closest friends, a few family members, a gay woman I work with) but don't tell others. I am not really hiding it I just do not see where it is anyone's business.
