well im just wondering, i've been thinking about just blurting "hey im bi" all over face book. now i dont care if someone gets negative about it im finally happy with who i am and no one is going to take that from me, i just havent decided when to do it, my hubby is over my shoulder saying to do it now i just might do that then go listen to the lazy song again hehe i love bruno mars anyways just a random thought.

I've considered doing that too. I have two FB accounts, one for the bi me and the other for the none-of-yr-business me. :) Go for it! I've been rejected a few times bcz of my sexuality, but then I just figure I really wouldn't have wanted them as friends anyway.

Just make sure people know that you are serious and it's not a joke. I personally don't feel the need for my 900+ friends, many I don't talk to regularly, to know that, though I'd tell them if they asked.

Once I find a boyfriend, I may make a more subtle announcement, such as simply listing myself as in a relationship and interested in men. Things like that are a way of saying it without actually saying it.

I would not advise it... more and more employers are monitoring Facebook for what they feel can be construed as "inappropriate" behavior. I have read of several instances where employers did not hire a potential employee due to the type of information that the candidate has demonstrated the he/she is willing to share on the internet.

Discrimination based on sexual orientation is against the law in Canada; not sure about the U.S. How'd it go darkdestiny?

Depends on where you live. Legislation concerning discrimination based on sexuality varies from state to state, county to county, and city to city. Urban areas often have good anti-discrimination laws. Unfortunately, the state of Tennessee just passed a bill making it impossible to enact anti-discrimination legislation in that state, but that is being challenged in court. So it depends where you live.

I'm also anxious to know how it went as well. I recently updated my "interested in" section to "interested in men" on Facebook. That was my way of saying it without saying it. That is visible to anyone not associated with the military. No one has asked me about that yet, and I did notice a couple people unfriended me, though I don't know if that's why.

Well all of my close friends know and I don't make it any secret. But as far as Facebook, I have many military friends on there, so it wouldn't be a good idea for me to do the same as you've done. My "interested in" is viewable to anyone not in the military.
