this might sound bad, but it always pleases me to see people "in the limelight" come out. i think it gives those of us who don't "follow the social norm" someone to get behind for a little support

I don't think that sounds bad. It's empowering for people. Like when Ellen came out on her show. It helped thousands of people. Same thing for Xena: Warrior Princess. That show helped me realize that what matters is that we LOVE someone, not what they look like. :)

personally, for me, the biggest surprise of someone "coming out" was Zachary Quinto. i still remember it actually, it happened right after a 13 year old boy killed himself because he was teased mercilessly about being gay. i think it makes people realize that it's not something that will "just go away" and that it doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, famous or unknown. it's a natural thing and should be celebrated, not despised

wow! i am so impressed maybe that might help me out with my sexuality. honestly, i hate the word bi or lesbian the lady in the article just said how she hates labels. now, she got people out there wondering if she is bi or les lmao makes me laugh. why can't people fall in love with a person not gender?

i agree why is there a binary gap in sexuality? i love what the lgbt community does but they keep separating these terms if you will. they make the bisexuals and transgendered people form their own communities. i pointed this out in a lgbt group i was in on myspace long time ago about how can you want you change but then you are dividing everybody in the community? what kind of support is that?

yea, that conversation didn't go to well. i said instead of being such drama queens about who is sleeping with who, fix the community, keep fighting with congress and employers on change that its not their biz what your sexual orientation is, etc.

people dont know what pansexual is, do people know anything about life at all? people in this world are so uneducated about a lot of things paris hilton seems to be more important than what's actually going on. hopefully, gonzales can be the light for those who just doesnt want to use labels and just wants to love someone as a person not their gender.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that even within the LGBT community there are subdivisions and "clicks". I honestly really detest labels. If I have to assign one to myself, it's so long it leaves people confused.

I believe in loving someone for who they are, not what they are. If they are male, female, transgender, whatever, it doesn't matter. Our society is obsessed with labels, and it's not something I'm happy about.

Unfortunately, people will always judge others. It is part of human nature. But I'm hoping with more people stepping up and coming out that we are going to become "accepted" instead of considered to be diseased ridden or mentally nutso. Who we love isn't always our choice. It's been shown that sexual orientation could be from social exposure, hormonal imbalance, or even genetic.

as far as "cliques and labels go", it's part of human nature to want things to be identified and classified. for example, if your car broke down and you took it to a mechanic, and you asked him what was wrong, you'd probably be upset if he just said "something's wrong with that one thing". or when tasting a friend's cooking, asking them what their recipe is and they just reply with a very vague answer. classifying things helps people put faces and names to a subject. i don't think it's right, but it is human nature. which is why i don't care if other people label me. they can call me bi, they can call me crazy, they can call me all sorts of stuff. but to me, the only label i accept is "Tom". that's who i am. and that's what i hope that those of all sexualities will eventually recognize. that the only label they need to take is "themselves"

labeling something about whats wrong with ur car is different than labeling a human. i think labels should be used for objects. we do make judgments but i think we should judge on important things not something thats so petty or ridiculous.

I get where you both are coming from. I think that as people we want a sense of belonging, while also not wanting to be put into groups by others. It is a very delicate balance.

yea true a sense of belonging and understanding. i don't know, for me, i hate to be judged just because i don't fit into something. i just want friends of any sexuality it doesn't matter to me and i have been trying to find friends like that for a long time and the ones i do meet either have an issue with lgbt or someone i meet may be lgbt but has an issue within their own community.

That is something I've always disliked. Just because we like both genders (or are gender blind in my case) doesn't mean that we are capitalizing on both sides of the dating pool. Science is starting to support that being gay is legit. All it takes is some screwed up hormone levels during utero to influence someone's sexual orientation.

Why drama loves LGBT communities I have no idea but I can totally relate to wishing people had brains!

i just look at it this way. there is so much anger and violence and hatred in the world today. people who kill simply because "they enjoy it". so what's wrong with a little love? what's wrong with people enjoying who they are? nothing's wrong at all. and the people who start the drama and hatred of the LBGT & Pansexual community, instead of choosing to love one another, instead choose to tear down good people and good institutions. and to me, that's incredibly sad

Unfortunately it falls into the "angry mob" mentality; a person is smart, people are dumb. All it takes is for someone to start the snowball at the top of the hill to start rolling.

It seems that "western society" is too focused on the negative and not on the positive. When those of us enlightened people interact with the rest of society, drama ensues. Someone makes an ignorant comment and others follow suit.

Hate is the real disease, apparently it is very contagious. Love is the cure. Why can't we spread the love?
