I've never heard of anyone using this for anxiety. And no, it's not a benzo.

well ive looked it up and it has been used to treat GAD alot....so just curious

Hi hon zyprexa if im correct is an anti-psychoctic but i was prescribed it and it did help me with my anxiety better than my benzo and antidepressent i also use it as a mood stablizer for my bipolar. the only badside effects that I had were sleepy then that went away but it made me more hungry but i realize the few extra pounds was worthy my sanity it leveled off & then weight gain stopped but meds are different for everyone i suggest asking your doc about it. good luck & hugs Leslie

I took it and felt great! Unfortunately it made me want to eat everything in the refrigerator even the condiments. I was only on it for 2 weeks so maybe things would have gotten better. I also had a friend on it and she gained 70 pounds in a short period of time. Just be careful.

If you can take antidepressants Effexor and Pristiq are both really good for anxiety. I take Pristiq and klonopin for anxiety.

I took it for sleep, and found I was waking up depressed every morning. Not sure if it caused weight gain, because I was on so many weight gaining drugs in the morning.

There was a class action law suit for the weight gain and people actually died of diabetes they got after the weight gain on the drug. Probably best to stay away from it. I never heard a good word spoken about the weigh gain side.

Was prescribed to me for sleep. It didn't help. I have GAD, too, and it didn't seem to help with that, either.
I gained 11 pounds in two weeks and I believe that it was incredibly expensive, too.

I take Alprazolam (Xanax) for my anxiety and to help me sleep. It helps somewhat with the Anxiety, but not enough. I asked for something more and was put on Hydroxyz HCL. That seems to help my Anxiety too, and it's only an antihistamine!!!!!

My Pdoc suggested a small dose of Seroquel during the day, to help with the Anxiety. I already take 50mg at night, to help me sleep. That's enough!!!! It's a terrible weight gainer and it's a high-priced drug, too.

I love Zyprexa...and I hate it. It works so well, I am so stable while I'm on it - it's wonderful. However, I have gained 90 pounds since starting it three years ago and it has boosted my blood sugars (I am type 1 diabetic also.) The zyprexa really helped with my anxiety. I think you have to weigh the benefits to the side effects. When I went on it I literally could not leave the house. I was so so paranoid that I was terrified of everything...and Zyprexa bit that in the butt. Good luck!!

not a bezo..ive got full bottle..i hate it..makes me a zommbie..but some people have to take these meds...a benzo are xanax,,klonopin,,atavains,,vailum,libream,,benzos are nerve meds..
