Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I was always considered "crazy"...just not legally. haha. Now I can just say "you were right all of those years!!"
They don't get it hough. I have to laugh. I don't need someone telling me there's not a problem when I know there is, and i've accepted it already and just want someone to help me work towards the answer to it, not tell me i'm fine!
But when it comes to being/having BP, I guess I've just always accepted it for what it was (since I was the last of my siblings to be dx'd).
Another example of my humor... Mom, sis, bro and I sitting around in the house talking about all the drama surrounding us. It was actually a really depressing discussion, I laughed loudly for a moment, probably innapropriate at the time, but yelled "Hey look Mom! It's a soap operal...All my Bipolar Children!"
You have to laugh at yourself.
It is funny that I spent 23 hours tightening all of the screws in my apartment.
And it is funny that I have ordered take-out for six and several on demand movies without eating any food or watching anything....
It isn't good.... but it's damn funny. Laugh at yourselves! laugh dammit!
My son has told me that the next time I'm manic it's ok if I clean his bedroom! (sometimes I hyper organize and clean)
I tell them I'm crazy brilliant, and when they tell me I'm wierd or odd, I tell them I come by it naturally...and not to forget it could be genentic!
But sometimes other people don't get my jokes or don't know how to react, This is my life most days I feel like I'm going to make the best of it- the rest I just wanna make it through.
