I'm just finding it amazing that my pdoc gives me all these drugs.
For one they are very powerful mind altering drugs and other really dangerous stimulants and downers like klonopin that if mixed with alcohol can kill you (ie: Heath Ledger). And she has my file of multiple suicide attempts with lengthly stays in the ICU and pychward afterwards. I guess she trusts me based on my feedback to her but seriously one manic episode away from the nut house, course no danger of suicide there, it is the depression that is the problem. Just a strange observation, I wouldn't want the responsibility of a shrink.

I have had experience with a lot of drugs and cocktails. I find that every new PDoc I find tends to prescribe the most expensive drugs first and work their way down. I sometimes doubt whether PDoc's have any idea on what they are talking about or if they are making it up as they go along just like the rest of us.

Yes they do the most recent expensive drugs first becaue that makes the money. My Pdoc wanted to put me on nuvigil. Well this cost 1000 a perscription and of course my insurance company did not cover it. They are corted by the drug companies.

The pdocs all have malpractice insurance. It's the first thing they buy when they graduate from the pdoc academy. Lotta money in meds and money corrupts any process. I think it's up to us to take care of ourselves and let the pdoc know what we'll put up with and what we won't.

I wouldn't want to responsibility of being a pdoc either. I've been blessed enough to have 2 good ones who just prescribed what they thought I needed not the most expensive drugs. I'm on 3 generics now and only one brand name drug and he gives me samples of that one so I don't have to pay the high copay. (abilify)

This med thing is trial and error though because you just don't know what is going to work for one person and not for another. All they can do is go on their experience in treating patients.

My old pdoc ( and the hospital) basically pickled me with meds...looking back I'm like WTF.

My new pdoc believes "less is more" we are currently testing a new "emergency" drug because my health insurance wont pay for the one that works....all the way around, this shit sucks
