Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with Bipolar type 2 when i was 20. This last summer i found the right med combo that made me feel secure and stable (i'm 23 now). But then university started so money became tight and i couldn't afford my mood stabalizer for about a month, i'm back on it. But towards the end of that month, i started feeling off, being more promiscious, socially recusing myself. Then it dawned on me that maybe i was in the start of depression because of being off my mood stablizer. My depression got way worst since that point. I have called in sick to work a few times and missed a day of university. Which if you know me, you know that i can always power through my lows to atleast make it t work. I haven't seen my friends in over a month, my apartment and car is a mess, i stoppped going to the gym, and started eating bad again, and gained weight. My school work and work performance has gone down. So classic depression, if theres such a thing.
If that wasn't bad enough, i've had persistent thought of suicide. Usually they go away but not this time. I can be out grocery shopping and all i can think about is killing myself. I'm at a very tough place. Some of my family knows, but they don't really know what to do to help, nor do my friends. My mental health worker is on vacation so that's off the table.
So what does one do? like i said, i'm back on my meds now, do i just wait and hope they work again? I've thought of self commiting myself at a crisis stablization unit in my city, but I work full time to pay for my rent, and i'm a student so i can't afford to fall behind.

Woke up feeling very emotional and about to clock in at my place of employment. And can't place it all in writing but not been a good experience with my store manager or his boss. Defamation of my character is a concern. I've been losing appetite and weight. Trying to perform at work to keep myself from hospitalization as a result of toxic masculinity.

If your Mental Healthcare worker is out for an extended period of time he/she should have left someone to handle their emergency cases, can you call and find out who that is and maybe see that person? It doesn't seem like waiting until they get back from vacation is a great idea at this point.
