I watching and have been watching World Cup Soccer.
Anyone else watching it ?

I am watching Germany vs. the United States right now.

I was rooting for Spain but you know how that went. Now Italy and Portugal have my support but I haven't watched a match since last Wednesday.

i don't own a tv, but i'm always glad when brazil wins. they've been my favourite footie club/nation for ages. until canada finally qualifies, that is. hehehhh

this thread sparked the seeds for a short story mark. :) funny.....i grew up playing the game. i was always goaltender and we won a lot. my favourite memory of my youth is actually a goal i didn't save, in a shootout in the league title match.

i believe they put two past me (the first one was the `moment'), and we put four or all five past their keeper. :)

sorry your country got beat today. they put themselves on the map internationally with their play at this world cup.

thanks Mojo, I am sorry I didn't respond sooner. That is cool that you were a goal keeper. That is one demanding position. I played soccer in high school though I was never that talented - but I persevered. The short story sounds cool.

Our country did do an extra good job this year. The popularity of the sport here is really spreading! It's kind of a cool phenomenon!

Its funny, ie strange I don't watch it so much at home. I live by myself. But yesterday I ordered take out a local pizzeria and I enjoyed watching the World Cup with the other customers there. I guess it feels better to watch it with company. BTW Rooting for the US.

I support English-speaking Countries that aren't England. :)

I always hope the USA do well, but ideally I want the Dutch to win the World Cup as they were blinking robbed in the 1974 and 1978 Finals.

LOL!! No, I don't follow the sport. But really how can I ignore all of the hoopla? Evidently we are a very competitive people. Once it caught my attention, it's hard to look away..........

Think we could make it to Brazil by 3pm? It's only 8:30am.
