Stresses , do it under a Dr's care.
Side effects can be mild , or severe, depending on the length of time you took it , and on the individual.

Some with drawls effects are
Shaking
Electric shock feelings
Dizziness
Feeling disoriented

Looks serious enough to NOT go it on your own.

I was given this by my doctor several years ago to help quit smoking. After a week of mania, some psychosis (I told him it was like I was stoned on acid or mushrooms) as well as insomnia he just told me to discontinue.

Nic, you know, in your case, you should consult your doctor or at the very least your pharmacist with a list of all your other meds and how long you've been using them.

Yea I will call his office tomorrow.. I am just experiencing way to many side effects to stay on it.. Been on it for about 2 months it helped some but not enough for all the side effects.. I just was curious if anyone else has come off of it and if they did is a long taper required?

not really a bad trip just Insomnia,acne,sever stomach pain,bad dreams,headaches,and tearing up at the smallest things it's stupid.. I freaking hate it.. I have not been on an antidepressant in over 4 years and I remember why now.. They are just not for me.. I just like stabilizers.

I was on Welbutrin at a time when NONE of my meds were working, I was in an awful Mixed Episode.
My Pdoc had me go off all of my meds cold turkey.

HELLISH experience for about 6 weeks .

Once I got "clean" we started up a new med combo..Welbutrin was not one of them.

I hear ya. nic, yeah a couple months is a long time so consult is your best bet. If it helps any I tend to tear up over silly little things, lovely, sad, commercials, a song, talking with my tdoc, reading and writing posts here...never a full on cry though...can't even remember when I last actually cried...but hey...no meds required for the teary eyes...just heart I s'pose...so you got a heart...nothing to be ashamed about. ~smiles~

i took it to quit smoking 4-5 years ago as well (it's also called `zyban'), and after a week of being wired and near psychosis, i stopped it.

ugh. not cool.

Oh- Wellbutrin- not such a good friend to me!

I became so volatile on it and was away on vacation up in the mountains- so I had to titrate down. Just awful fo rme.

Call doc - not sure if it's one that can just be stopped or titration is needed. I did so because I wasn't sure- no phone service to call...

I love the mania from AD but that is because I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of being depressed.

Unless I go psychotic of course.

The only thing welbutrin did to me was give vivid dreams. I had no issues with withraw. Thinking about it now, i had no withdrawl from any med I was on, and the only side effects where those very rare sexual ones (not the no intrest in sex, look way down the list and you will find them on the side effects and need to google them to see what they are).

I just got off the phone with my doc and he said I could just stop taking it and the withdrawl shouldn't be bad. Thanks for all the comments..

Just remember to call him if you notice any bothersome symptoms going off it. You don't want them to go out of control at night or weekend when he is closed.

Jus a side note welbutrin is the anti d Ive been on and off since 2001. When I don't need it they just stop it and for me no withdrawal. I hope you find the same and they get you on something that your body and mind likes.

Unfortunately my experience with Welbutrin was unpleasant. It actually caused a med-induced mania (this was before I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder).

siris that's what effexor did to me... wellbutrin is known for having a stimulate property.
