Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
It is so difficult to "switch" our thoughts. It takes sooooo much work and effort and you will have days that you will falter, you are human. I have always seen you as a kind and compassionate woman who cares about others and just wants to feel stable and happy.
You can have that sweetie, you really can. Noone can give you the magic words to expunge your thoughts but there are techniques and therapies that can. Please hang on, make a list of all the good things about yourself and in your life. Try to look forward and depart from your past. Try to stop putting so much guilt on yourself for memories of your past.............ask yourself "will any of this guilt change what was?" "What can I take from those experiences and learn from them?" "How can I let those experiences strengthen me?"
You are not your experiences, you are who you decide to be because of them. Get out of your head right now.........go do something to distract yourself, take a walk, go window shopping, read a book, do some jumping jacks, whatever it takes. Please love yourself, you are worth it........xo
The best thing you can do when one thought that (could) trigger something is coming is:
1. distract yourself
2. label that thought
