My husband asked me the other day why I love DS more than therapy. this is what I told him.

It's a place I can go where I am accepted at face value. I don't need to be more than what I am and no one makes me feel less than what I am. They are straight with me and I can relate to almost everything I read. I don't have to hide my worst feelings and they make me laugh almost everyday. I find peace there.

Thank you to everyone at DS and on the boards for creating a place for me to find some peace. I Luv this site.

DS is a good place and this board is family!!!!!! We may fight among ourselves like rabid dogs some days but we also love and laugh like no other. This place has saved my sanity more times than I can count

I agree this is a good site, I've found compassion when I need it and criticism when I do also. I love being part of the DS group. Thanks for bringing this up.

I love it because all my friends are here.

I can be completely obnoxious and no one cares.

I can turn it off for as long as I choose.

I finally feel like I fit in.... no more "square peg in round hole" syndrome

I love the people here. Some more than others - but this place is great when we fight AND when we laugh.

Like today, I really need some support and within minutes, I get it.

I'm completely with you, I love DS. Therapy doesn't compare because it's just a totally different experience. I never thought I'd find a place where I'd really feel like I fit in and could just be me, but here it is. I think it's even saved me a few times to be honest. There's no place else like it. :-)

This is a nice post. I think therapy definitely has its place and enjoy it. However, I love coming here and being understood, not having to explain everything, talking to supportive friends, and the underlying understanding that's already there for all of us.

I think M and B are so cute too!

Why I love the BP DS board. I guess I have many reasons:

1) You guys were there for me when I was first diagnosed, could not afford therapy and was scared shitless.

2) You guys are really clever and I can talk to you about almost anything

3) You understand where I am coming from, and I don't feel like a freak.

4) You are my family. My own biological family can't stand me, so you guys are it!!
