Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I miss working and being around people and laughter.
But if I'm away from home for too long , I get paniky feeling.
, and I feel like I have to retreat to my " safe zone"
The last years with RA have changed me. I used to dread being alone, now I value it. I find myself getting frustrated if I have to go out. I don't know if my bipolar flares have been tempered, if the RA exhaustion combined with aging and menopause, have calmed me down, but it just isn't the pleasure it used to be, socializing.
Or maybe I am just growing more normal? Or maybe it is the constant criticism of my husband and daughter showing me where I was socially inappropriate, but never recognized before? Self awareness can be a big pain, sometimes.
So, I'd rather be on my own these days. But just not too alone. I hate it when hubby is out of town for weeks. I just like him in the garage, working on his projects, while I do my thing, and not alone, but not bothered.
That's when it's so great that you don't have to do either with online friends.
What have we become? lol
The internet has been such a powerful influence in my life. I've grown up on the net and solved a lot of my life problems with the help of the online community. Some of the friendships I've made with those online are far more intimate than with those I've known for years offline.
Not being face to face with others makes it easier to express things that would be avoided otherwise. Chatting online gives more of a blank canvas to reflect on, but the downside to that is not seeing the expressions of the people we're communicating with. So meanings can be skewed.
Then there is the profound diversity which opens up avenues that were never possible offline.
