Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
You may be hypersexual due to your BP, I sure as Hell know I was...
You know I guess I have to say just do what you can.
Thanks.
Is it just your sex life that has died or don't you love/fancy your hubby anymore? does he know how you feel about the marriage and is he ok with having no sex too....or could you find the spark back again if you found some time for just you two once or twice a week and went out for a meal or to the cinema as a couple, started dating again.
He is slightly in denial of what you have and wants the old you back, so going out for drinks etc is the fun side of life he wants to share with you like he did before. If you can't talk to him soon about all of this someone has to, someone he will listen to. What about your Dr, you mentioned seeing a therapist does he sometimes go with you could he go to a ouple of sessions with you and have your therapist explain about what bipolar really mean, so him expecting you to drink while out is a no no.
The flip side to this is, if you are living with a man who you don't love even if you see it for the sake of your daughter, what do you expect for the future for you all. And how friendly are you to your hubby on a day to day basis, is he trying to be a good partner, wine and dine you but you feeling nothing towards him show no affection so leave him feeling hurt and rejected.
This is a two way street and l'm thinking perhaps there are some words needed to be said to both of you here, he can't be expected to live his life sex free with no real kisses or cuddles few smiles or hand holding and just like it he's a real person with real feelings too who must be so confused by all this.
I'm still trying to get a grip on the bipolar diagnosis.. and figure out how I'm going to proceed... it's hard when you can't think clearly so I really appreciate your input.
He is just as confused as you and both could learn a great deal along the way, he has to learn to accept this new you along with understand who you are now as much as you need to understand and see his viewpoint. This is the best time to learn and grow together and maybe it could bring you closer in a way you never thought it could.
The lack of emotion, and memory loss could be partially due to having bipolar, my memory stinks and becomes worse when having a manic episode, plus meds have side effects that can leave us numb too at first so stick with it things will settle down, and don't think that how you feel about your hubby today is how you will feel tomorrow wait and see how you feel once you are more settled into being a mum and on your meds etc, good luck to you both.
