Last week I had a complete breakdown, my house was trashed, and I pulled my children from school and enrolled them at a school by my mother...I just couldn't take care of anything.
My landlord came into my apartment, without my permission and no notice while I was away trying to get better, due to "furnace problems"...I live on the top floor..no furnace in here.
I received a letter today stating that my landlord will from now on come in and do monthly inspections of my apartment b/c of how trashed it was.
Should I take this up with a lawyer? They had no right to walk into my apartment without contacting me, I think.

Call the local Tenants Association and ask thier advice---solutions vary from state to state and country to country.

How bad could it have been ?? gezz , for her to want inspections is ridiculous. I would call the police and ask them what the laws are as far as that . But I think they may be allowed , but their ARE rules about that stuff.

I just looked it up, the landlord is allowed to enter if doing repairs in the unit... the repair was to the furnace, nothing in my apartment.

laws and ordinances would vary from state to state, etc, but... I would think they have to give you some notice before they come barging into your apt

those damn cats ! Dont worry. When my landlords see what my pitbull did to a door AND then all the holes in the walls from me ! Oh shit ..I dont even expect my 1st and last month rent back. Im just going to let him have it ..OHHHHHH and Billy the love of my life ..took down the CEILING in the attack so he can hang his punching bag !! Were going to jail

They usually dont unless they can prove something was wrong that would put the apartment residents in danger. I'd at least run it by the tenant Union.
