I have eaten wild and domestic duck both . . . wild duck is much better and if done right no gamey taste

Domestic is greasier and if you cook correctly neither wild nor domestic has to be greasy Tats see if you can find a hunter willing to part with a couple of wild ones

Christmas Eve is our "splurgiest" meal of the year. We are always at my sister's, and we go all-out for the meal.

We usually have beef since it's between Thanksgiving turkey and Easter ham. For the last several years, I have splurged on filet mignons for dinner. My mom is buying them this year since money is so tight for me now. Everything we make is elegant, though.

Tomorrow night we'll come up with the side dishes and desserts. I'm excited to see what we come up with.

My Auntie usually makes arroz con pollo (rice and chicken dish that has raisins and other stuff in it). We also have tamales (which are made of cornmeal outside and stuffed with meat, rice and veggies-they are killer good!!). So that is our usual feast for Xmas-Feliz Navidad!!

We are actually celebrating with a Christmas Eve dinner at my sisters this year, we have usually always done a large Christmas day dinner....but thought we would change things up a bit this year....change can be good!!!

I'm still making a dinner Christmas Day for my mom, kids and Will....looking forward to it but the duck thing might get scratched off the dinner list!!! Love the filet mignon idea....but not sure I can swing it financially.....sounds to die for though!!

Tats - I have an excellent recipe for duck somewhere and you steam it in a roasting pan on your stovetop. It is NOT greasy, all the fat steams off. I never find duck to be gamey tasting either.

One drawback - not a whole lot of meat on them, think medium sized chicken size. You might have to do two.

Wild duck is usually 1 per person - domestic can feed at least 2 usually 3
