In fact most bipolar meds made me very sick.
I was on 12 different meds in one year !
I never knew if I was adjusting to a new med or going through withdrawl from the old med.
Finally my Pdoc took me off everything cold turkey...gave me 3 months to make sure everything was out of my system.
Now I have successfully been on 1000 mg of Depakote as a mood stabilizer and Xanax and Buspar to help with anxiety.
It took me 7 years to find a good med combo.
Don't give up !
The only horrible side effect I've had from meds was Risperdone. It gave me a reaction where my eyes would uncontrollably roll into the back of my head, so I had to stop that immediately.
Latuda worked all right for me, (I was actually one of the people who tested Latuda before it was put on the market) but my insurance company refused to cover it.
Right now my med lists is Lamictal 100 mg, Buspirone 10 mg, Wellbutrin 300 XL, and Fluvoxamine 100 mg.
Right now I'm on Topamax and Zyprexa and so far so good.
I tried some that made me sick, and Lithium with blood checks was not for me!
Don't give up for sure!
lithium 1200 mgs a day.5 yrs
Xanax 4-6 mgs prn a day 11 yrs.
