Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

i cry when im sad but i have to be really fuckin sad.
I found this interesting:
Thus often people may sometimes find themselves crying after a difficult event rather than during. Tears seem to be a way people calm themselves.
This is interesting because all the time, when something serious happen to my son, on the 3 event that happen. I did not cry during, I only cry after I took care of it and once he was safe again.
The fourth event, I wasn''t home for, I was at work. When I found out what happen, I didn't cry until after I went to walmart and got what I needed to bolt his window shut, so they never open again. Then I cried for days. lol
That's an interesting article. I'm not much of a cryer. Shame does reduce me to tears. And when I talk/think about my three beautiful daughters (ages 24, 22.5 and 21) it chokes me up every time. I think that must be love in the purest, deepest and most unobstructed form.
i cry for equilibrium too. when shit is all messed up and i just need to let it out.
depression.. i cry for no good fuckin reason when depressed. i can be sitting there eating a cookie one moment with hardly a thought at all. the next moment i am sobbing. that sucks a big one. suppose it is under the equilibrium category.. maybe, it is our brain trying to let go of the depression and move on?
I actually cry all the time, I can read something in the news, hear something, or have a quick thought of someone (mostly about other ppl, like the news and the bad things that happen to ppl) but its there.
I agree fartgirl.
And it's almost always for some schmaltzy movie scene. Rarely for anything going on in my 'real life'!!!
There's something in the chemical makeup of tears that's supposed to result in one feeling better for having shed them.
And happy tears have a different chemical makeup than sad tears.
If someone cries but gains no comfort from it, I wonder if their tears aren't the 'right' kind.
It would be interesting if they did a study on the tears a Bipolar sheds. If our brain chemicals are off, I wouldn't be at all surprised if our tears are, too. In fact, I think it seems more likely than NOT!!!
