I have both BP and Diabetes 2. For the past several months, I've been on Lamictal's generic (Lamotrine or something like that) and it has helped with my being able to think as it's cleared the thought processes. BUT, my blood sugar has not dropped below 280 at any time in these months and I've been fairly medication compliant.
I've been depressed a lot more of late, so the PDoc gave me Seroquel for the depression. And guess what it does... raises blood sugar. Not only does it raise blood sugars, since I've been taking it, I've only gotten 3 hours sleep a day as it's thrown me into full blown manic. It's not even been a week yet since I started the seroquel. And yes, I know, not sleeping raises blood sugar too.
Part of me wants to wait until my PC doctor's appointment in 2 weeks and see if he can't prescribe something stronger for my diabetes. Part of me wants to go there tomorrow as I /KNOW/ that diabetes isn't something to mess around with as it can and flat out kill you.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
some stuff is here but I see there have been court cases etc - that doesn't make it true and obviously if the link is more about the obesity that's not so much your issue - it's the blood sugar thing.

but both sides of my family as in my mums side nanna and my dads side nanna has diabetes... does that mean me being on seroquel XR 200mg going up to 300mg tomorrow.. is there a chance it could increase me getting it?
I know people who weren't diabetic and the Seroquel caused them to get diabetes.
Any meds that mess with your diabetes needs to be brought to the attention of the pdoc, and if they just brush it off, find someone new.
