I've been taking Abilify for a week and it's destroyed my appetite, I have to force myself to eat now and nothing really tastes good. I'm glad since I have 20 lbs to lose, this should work out well.

I had the same reaction..I did lose a goodly amount , of much needed weight..then the Abilify started going goofy on me...I hope it works out well for you.

My Pdoc is a strong believer that Abilify allows many BP people to live very productive lives

If you have trouble eating, Prozac and Paxil give you an appetite. They are antidepressants. Why are you taking Abilify? That is an antipsychotic.If you have depression and anxiety abilify alone will not help.

Pristiq is a good antidepressant if you DON'T want to gain weight...you still have an appetite though, but not bad...I have been around the same weight for a year now. and thats how long i've been taking it

So strange how we can react to the same meds in such a variety of ways. I had a really great appetite on Abilify. Eventually it tapered off, but not before I put on 20 pounds. I also lost weight on Prozac but had to stop it because it made me a raging bitch. So who knows!?!????

heretic--I hope you lose your 20 and regain your appetite in time as well.

Abilify did nothing for me so I am very glad that it is working for you. How is your mood?

The appetite and taste thing might settle down with time. Fingers crossed.
