So my husbands best friend just left his wife after she learned he had cheated on her. He is staying in our basement and everything was ok until tonight. She calls stating she wants to talk...he goes over and she attacks him...biting, shoving, kicking, hitting, scratching. She bit his hand until there was blood making him drop his iphone. So he returns to our house bloody, torn clothing and in such a state with no iphone. I wanted him to call the cops and press charges, but I think he is embarresed to have been in an abusive relationship. She has been mentally abusive for years and now it is escalating. He has spent the last few hours cancelling his phone and changing passwords and we are all on guard because she has weapons at their house that she has access too. Well, so do we...this is Texas-everyone is armed(but not crazy and vindictive like her). So now I am finding that all this has sent me into a mini panic attack. I do not put it past her to come to my home armed. I have taken a hot bath and I am doing the best I can to calm down, without taking a valium so in case she shows up I will have all my faculties about me. I guess I just needed to rant...but I may seriously just take a valium and hide in my room for the rest of the day.
Although I don't advocate cheating...this bitch is crazy and has had major mental and alcoholic issues for a long time(they have only been married for like 5 years). My 12th anniversary is the 12th of this month and I am scard to leave my mom home alone to go away for the weekend...shit-how one person can ruin everything.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
if i were you, i'd tell him to move into a motel tonight. before it comes to gunfire.
Have to agree with Mojo on this one, he needs to go to a motel until things calm down a bit.
I'm sorry your hubby's friend and his situation is causing you turmoil. Keep taking good care of yourself and do what you need to do to feel safe and calm.
The friend to a hotel sounds like a splendid idea, though his wife might assume he's still at your place. It's tempting to get all tangled up in the drama but I'd stay in the bathtub if I were you!
Hope this situation calms down soon.
Yowza! That is some gnarly stuff to have in your house. Hope you weather the storm in style.
For what it is worth, I married into a family of 4th generation Texans 32 years ago. It is news to all of us that we all have guns.
Your mental health? A friends drama?- kick rocks buddy.
I'm so sorry your being put thru this right now, it is BS that something can tip us off so easy : ( Your the priority hun..
Let both of them take it elsewhere
In no way should it be your problem.
He should leave your house and if she shows up, the police should be called.
You don't mention -- what does your husband want done?
Obviously, your mom's safety trumps your 12th anniversary.
If you think that she's in any danger, postpone the weekend getaway until a later date when the current threat no longer exists.
Good luck.
Extricate yourself from their bullshit as quickly and completely as you can.
(((((Hugs)))))
One domestic violence shelter I had the pleasure of staying in had a male resident - UI do believe now state laws mandate they have to take guys too (as it should) even tho he is embarassed in truth it would be the best place for him as she wont be getting thru their front door
