Here's a question for everyone. When you hear internal voices in your brain, what is that? That's not schizophrenia (sorry about the spelling) is it?

I hear my own thoughts a lot of the time telling me to do things, and it's mostly when I'm hypo. I thought it was normal until my Pdoc told me that it wasn't, doesn't mean your skitz just that your voice in your head has some rule in there too. I hope this helps, if it made any sense. J..........first off............congrats!! You spelled schizophrenia right!! LOL. I have these voices or what seems like voices in my head too and they are worse at times when I am rapid cycling as I do. Mine are due to PTSD or so I am told. Do you have a dx of PTSD?

l hear music l woke up to abba the other day......dancing queen l started to sing along until l realised where the music came from!! it doesn't get me down though

If it's post traumatic stress disorder, I haven't received a diagnosis. I can't think of anything in my life that would bring that about either.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.............you can google or otherwise search for it on the net and read on it. It can be a diagnosis for wartime soldiers, child abuse sufferers, accident victims...........anything traumatic that has left such a scar on the psyche that it causes symptoms.

Aside from the PTSD, maybe it just comes with bipolar since so many of us seem to be "blessed" with it. Yikes!!

I always thought the constant wittering in my head was normal, until my p.doc. told me it was psychosis. I researched about psychosis & figured I fitted into the category. I get psychosis when I'm hypomanic or cycling. My meds. help a lot.

Mine come along with my intrusive thoughts when i'm in a state of psychosis. I have bipolar type 1 with psychotic features and they usually are sent spinning while i'm in a manic episode and when i'm in a major depressive episode. And in my case, if this was normal then the whole world would be thrown into a padded room. So, i'm glad i'm on meds :)
