Just a little vent. My children's father has been in my children's lives a whole 3-4 times in the past year and a half. I've had to talk to my daughter in particular about his absence, and the possibility of him not returning. She's now in therapy for "Grieving the loss of her father".
Yesterday was her birthday, and he showed up at her school to give her a card and a balloon. He also said "I call all the time, but no one answers" (yeah, that pins the blame on me since she believes him over me). Every time he does this, I have to go through the whole thing over again.
Every time the phone rings, she gets excited as if it will be him, and is let down when it's not. BLAH! He's a deadbeat aside from his every 6 months or so visit...just enough to completely fuck my daughter's head up all over again.
My son just thinks that "Daddy doesn't like him" , he doesn't dwell on it though.

I kind of want her to figure it out on her own.
My mother said it best..."it's like having chocolate cake every single day, and once every 6 months or so you get vanilla cake" So she values those very few times much more than anything else.
I will pray for you.
So it ruined any chance of me ever having a good relationship with my son, and I am forever scarred by her and her family, AND the fact that my son probably thinks I am a piece of shit.
So, I guess what I am saying is... Divorce is hard, the kids get hirt, and it really has to do with the parents not being able to work it out. if you can, work it out somehow... and I promise oyu if he is as hurt as I was it wont be easy.
