Remember yesterday,when I told you I was having a meltdown,and then said shortly thereafter that I was OK? I'm not OK. Yesterday afternoon at dinner time, I noticed that I'd been moved from my seat at the end of the table to a seat against the wall. I'm a fairly easy-going person,so I just took my new seat and didn't say a word. While we were eating,the lady next to me,who I consider a friend,teased me "You better make up your mind where you're gonna sit!" I pointed at Arlene,the caregiver from hell (I live in an assisted-living facility) and said "She moved me". My friend asked Arlene why,and Arlene replied that people couldn't get past my chair,obviously meaning that I'm too big to sit there.
Let me say that I'm aware of my serious weight problem (I take Risperdal,which has always given me an appetite like a feeder pig). I'd lost almost 80 pounds without trying,but I gained it back. Believe me I plan to do something about my weight, I need to make wiser food choices and start walking again now that spring is almost here. But I was so humiliated by that remark. I don't even feel comfortable sitting at the table anymore. I've pretty much decided I can't continue living this way much longer,having to deal with someone who will never forgive me because I contributed to her getting fired last fall.I've been as nice to her as I know how to be,and I'm aware I probably messed up big time,but she's an extremely cruel person and shouldn't be taking care of people with mental illnesses. Maybe I should give her a card apologizing for what happened before. But yesterday I wanted to disappear from the face of the earth. I was devastated. Please help.
