Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I have 17 year old who was diagnosed with bipolar. I also have bipolar2 disorder. She doesn't want to take any meds. Her dad does not want her to take any meds either. She has a new psychiatrist who diagnosed her with Generalized Anxiety Disorder only. So my girl is taking 25 mg of Zoloft now. She wants to stop taking the meds.
I got divorced last year. My husband couldn't take it anymore. I have codependency also.
I have a 9 year old daughter. I have those two kids. :)
My 9 year old has not gone to a psychiatrist. I hope she
does not have bipolar!I don't think she does, though. I am no
psychiatrist.
I have troubles with my teen. She has always been difficult for me to raise. She will turn 18 in January.
I pray to God that he will help me and my children. I pray that God will help you and your kids, also.
I do not think you are wrong, kryslalee.

I joined the Friends And Families Of Bipolar Group , here on DS.
I found a lot of help and support there, dealing with BP teens .
Sometimes, to keep your own sanity, and the safety of your younger children, you may have to insist the oldest leave your home .
I know that's a tough call, but it might be needed for the sake of everyone else's mental health
It is imperative.
I was like that when I was younger. They used to call me "Carrie" as in the movie in High School. I have a personality disorder and I am dependent and childish at age 45.
Unless she wants a life of misery, pain and bad choices, it is imperative that she seek help. Therapy and meds are a must and can turn a life around Albeit that my life is still hell, some people see that I am trying to reform so the eariler the troubled teen gets help the sooner things will turn around for her.
Signed,
One who is been there.
Your feedback helps so much. I feel as if for the sake of myself and my other three children, the time has come to let her go her own way and learn on her own. Hopefully she will quickly realize that she does need help.
Meanwhile, it really helps to hear that you all do not consider me heartless. My 9 year old and myself bear the brunt of her verbal and emotional abuse. And that is exactly what it has become- a form of abuse she heaps upon us.
I hope to hear from others as well who are dealing with or haave dealt with similar situations. Thank you to all of you who have replied so far.
Heathercliff: My first marriage and several previous relationships went up in flames. I found my wondeful second hubby online in 2002. I was diagnosed 4 months later. He sticks beside me through it all. He is very strong and understanding, for which I will be eternally grateful. But it took going through alot to find the right person. So do not give up hope. God is my anchor, and I know He is there for you too.
Dancingd: I will check out that group.
4myson744: I was quite out of control for a long time. That is what I fear for my daughter. But you are strong, and making better choices now. That takes courage. Hang in there. I will keep trying to get help for my girl. But I cannot force her, and I feel helpless as I watch her sliding towards a train wreck. May we all be strong.
Kryslalee
I will trust in God and I will keep hope.
LOVE,
