Well it is official the genetics have won out and my son was Dx'd Uni-polar depressive yesterday. In a way it is a relief for me too he is finally getting medication and help which is one less stressor for me. Curoious about the cocktail though. They are having him start with titrated doses of Trazodone.
I checked the PDR and it says NOT for Bipolar Depression or pediatric use ... he is 14 and 170 pounds. Sertraline is his am medication basically two antidepressants. Due to risk of increased depression His pills are being dispensed by me for the time being and secured in the drug safe. Don't need any overdose attempts.
Any one been on these? I am courious about weight gain.

He was very relieved to have his issue identified he did not think it was ADHD and would have been pissed I think if that was the DX but he is an AP (advanced placement) 14 year old student.
