Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
However, not having him care and watch is better than not having anyone that cares that much. When I get tired of being in the glass bubble I remind myself of what I have. So many just want someone to care - well, I have that and am grateful.
The longer I go without incident the less he watches. Be straight forward and tell him you need a day to yourself. Asking for time alone is as important as asking for help. Just tell him that time on your own is what will help.
Hugs. :)
How about this Inkspring? Be open with your husband. Ask him for some space. Tell him in a very gentle, loving and appreciative way that you need some time alone sometimes (you have somebody in your life who is concerned for you, many people would give an ear for that!!!).
And the kicker with bp is to treat the condition. Sleep, exercise, exercise some more, eat right, keep stress down, take meds, see therapists, etc. Do these things and we will all be stronger for when the depressions come, we will float at a slightly higher level through the depressions.
Talk to them, ask for space, and take care of yourself. I say these things because I need to do them. I'm as much of a mess as anybody.
