Several months ago, I was hearing voices, something that hadn't happened for a while. So my pdoc increased my Clozaril, but that didn't help. I'd been prescribed Ativan prn for anxiety, tried it one day and discovered that it made the voices disappear. Now I take 1 mg in the morning and 1 mg in the afternoon. It's a God-send but it does make me drowsy, so I drink a cup of strong black coffee (no more than 2 cups) in the morning. I can go for months without a problem, but occasionally I need a med-tweak.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I am tired of docs saying to me: Well a lot of people are on higher doses. This med is for (some typical symptom of bipolar) so it should be working.
Making me feel guilty about not having the drugs work on me as per the text book or leaflet.
I was first on Lithium. After a while it made my fingers twitch, then my legs would jerk.
I told my doctor and as I was telling her, my finger twitched.
She advised me that my calcium levels showed that the dose wasn't that much.
She did pescribe something else.
But if she hadn't I would have stopped them anyway.

Sometimes if meds make you twitch it can be because your Iron levels are low and a simple Iron supplement can stop the twitching. Just in case you run into the problem with multiple meds.
